Z-TRIP voted America’s Best DJ for 2009

ABDJ Awards Ceremony and Closing Party Set for The Palms Hotel & Casino Las Vegas—With Paul Oakenfold’s Planet Perfecto party!

Port Washington, N.Y.--The votes have all been counted and it's official--DJ Times magazine and Pioneer Pro DJ are proud to announce that Z-Trip has been voted America's Best DJ for 2009.

The talented Los Angeles-based jock will be honored September 12 in Las Vegas for the ABDJ Closing Party, which will include a press reception at Ghost Bar in The Palms Hotel & Casino. After being presented with his trophy--a special Gold-Plated Pioneer mixer--Z-Trip will perform with Paul Oakenfold at the Rain Nightclub for the Planet Perfecto party, one of America's wildest nights out.

"It's an honor to be ranked No. 1 by the people," said Z-Trip (aka Zach Sciacca), "especially considering all the incredible talent out there these days."

Additionally, a lucky ABDJ voter (plus a guest) will be flown to Vegas for the festivities--will it be you? Stay tuned. We'll announce our Grand Prize winner very soon!

Winner -Z- Trip

An early leader in the mashup movement, Z-Trip can entertain almost any crowd—he’s opened for The Rolling Stones and played with jam bands at the Bonnaroo Festival. The Los Angeles-based turntablist was also featured heavily in Doug Pray’s terrific documentary, Scratch. His Uneasy Listening collaboration with DJ P remains a hot eBay item.

Another true mobile-to-global story, Porter honed his studio skills and eventually gained notice from top touring jocks like Chris Fortier. A genuine DJ legend, Qbert is a turntablist who makes other jocks stand back in awe. Always the innovator, QBert’s repertoire of scratches and other tricks has won a global following of fans and vinyl-fetish DJs.
